"The best moment is when the juice of our pears runs along the corners of your mouth, or even along your elbows," says Evelien Haverhoek about her Fruitkotje. Visitors are sometimes almost moved when they taste a real pear again. Evelien started out with a small stall and has consciously chosen not to grow bigger. "We stay small as we are." Above all, it must remain a cosy, rural meeting place with time for a chat.
Besides apples and pears, the Fruitkotje sells seasonal fruit such as strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, cherries and plums. And there is more. Son Martijn is not only a chef but also an ice cream master who makes ice cream from fruit from their own orchard. There are now sixteen flavours.
Something special is also the possibility to have lunch, picnic, dine or enjoy high tea in the orchard. Martijn prepares lunches, dinners, picnic baskets and high tea combinations with great creativity.
