Orchard Hollandse Hoeve

About this location

On the edge of the Hollandse Hoeve recreation area in Goes lies a special patch of greenery: a standard-tree orchard where you are welcome to walk and pick. Apples, pears and plums grow in full splendour, each with their own story. Signs by the trees tell you which variety you are looking at, when it ripens and how it tastes: from sweet to sharply sour, from juicy to firm.

The orchard is freely accessible. No fences, no admission fee, just an invitation to look, learn and taste. When the fruit is ripe, you may take some home, for personal use and with respect for the trees and each other.

Standard-tree fruit differs from the neatly pruned trees of modern fruit growing. They need space, grow slowly and form irregular crowns that give the landscape character.

The orchard is more than a collection of trees: a living textbook, a seasonal calendar and a place of peace and wonder. Here you taste fruit, landscape, tradition and time.
