About this location
Mill De Hoop is a corn mill dating from 1808 on the Molendijk in Wolphaartsdijk. It is a round stone scaffolding mill with an air of 22.00 meters.
The mill was originally built as a ground-sailer. After a conflict over wind rights and the uprooting of a forest, the mill was raised by 0.5 meters in 1894 and turned into a scaffolding mill. After a fire in 1993, the upper cover was replaced and the hull raised by another 70 centimetres. These interventions make De Hoop a mill with a unique appearance.
