About this route
North Beveland is the smallest island in Zeeland, but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in variety. This western MTB route takes you along three very different bodies of water: the rugged North Sea at De Banjaard, the tranquil Eastern Scheldt and the wide Veerse Meer at De Schotsman. Over 27 kilometres you combine broad dyke paths with narrow singletrack and a few technical sections that challenge riders of all levels.
The route starts at Kamperland harbour and heads straight to the Spuibosje, a wooded area just outside the village featuring the first technical sections: root passages and narrow trails through the trees. From there you head to De Banjaard, the westernmost point of the island, where you ride outside the dyke with the North Sea and the Eastern Scheldt Storm Surge Barrier in view. A grass track along the dyke takes you back east, through holiday park De Schotsman, where singletrack along the Veerse Meer provides a stunning final stretch back to Kamperland.
