About this event

Slide Presentation about Haamstede Castle

The excursion begins with a captivating slide presentation focusing on the history of Haamstede Castle. Discover how this castle has evolved through the centuries and learn more about who once lived here. The presentation provides an overview of the castle and the surrounding landscapes, prompting reflection on the influence of this heritage on the region.

Walk through the Castle Forest

After the presentation, it's time to immerse ourselves in nature! In the second part of the excursion, you will take a special walk through the Castle Forest, which is normally closed to the public. The forest offers a beautiful contrast to the historic castle. Led by a knowledgeable guide, you will uncover the secrets of the Castle Forest, with its ancient trees and mysterious atmosphere. During the walk, the guide will point out various interesting spots. This is an opportunity to learn more about the biodiversity in the area and the care that Natuurmonumenten (the Dutch Society for Nature Conservation) dedicates to preserving this special nature reserve.

Practical Information:
• Please wear sturdy shoes, as the walk will be on unpaved paths.
• The excursion is suitable for adults and children aged 12 and over.
• Make sure to book your ticket in advance, as the number of places is limited.

  • Ticks are present in the forest. Please check yourself for ticks afterwards!
