Viswinkel het Kombuis

About this location
'Our shop doesn't smell of fish,' says Ingeborg Leistra with a laugh, owner of fish shop Het Kombuis in Kamperland. And that's actually a good sign: fresh fish shouldn't smell of fish. Together with Alex Davidse she runs the shop, tucked away somewhat along the Jacobaweg, close to the beach, campsite Anna Friso and the Oosterschelde.
Alex has been buying fish from local fishermen for almost forty years and knows better than anyone what to look for. Deep-fried fish is still a favourite, and kibbeling (battered cod chunks) is the absolute bestseller. You'll also find fresh and smoked fish, eel or mackerel sandwiches, shrimp croquettes and fish salads. In mussel season, mussels from Neeltje Jans are of course on the menu, often combined with samphire and lemon.
You can take everything to go, but you can also enjoy it outside in the little maritime corner. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, with staff who love a chat and a joke. Het Kombuis is therefore a great stop for lovers of fresh Zeeland fish.
